I met Ben at the house and walked down the demolition job to bring down a 3000 sq ft residential home. He promptly gave me a quote with a good price and after receiving the demo permit, he went to work with his guys to bring down the house and remove the debris. I cannot have enough praise for Bella Contracting!! As a result of Ida on Wednesday, our basement took the brunt of the storm drain overflow on our street due to our location. After multiple phone calls to local water remediation companies and putting our names on at least 7 lists, I randomly called Bella Construction Services on Labor Day. To my surprise, Ben not only answered the phone, but he told me he could have his crew out today to take out our sheetrock! Types of Water Towers

The demolition techniques that will be used to demolish a water tower change depending on how that water tower was constructed, and on the materials it’s made of. Water towers can be grouped into several different types, including:

Spherical Water Tank Towers

These towers have spherical containers to hold water—they’re usually made of steel. The tank typically sits on a slender shaft.

Fluted Column Towers

These towers usually feature a cylindrical tank which sits on top of a fluted column. They’re typically constructed from steel or concrete.

Standpipe Towers

A standpipe tower is essentially one large water tank—they can be constructed from steel or concrete.

Multi Legged Towers

These towers can hold much larger water tanks thanks to the support offered by multiple legs.

Challenges of Water Tower Demolition

Water towers have a unique construction, with large tanks perched atop supports. Heavy machinery and specialized equipment must be used to work through the materials, which are often constructed entirely of steel or concrete.

Typically, water towers are built near or in residential areas, which may be densely populated. Extra care must be taken to protect the people and property surrounding the water tower. Additionally, local by-laws and noise ordinances must be considered when planning the demolition.
